The Best New (and Newly Updated) Luxury Hotels to Visit in New England This Fall

The world may feel like a very different place than it did last autumn, but thankfully nothing has changed the changing of the seasons. Fall still brings the colorful kaleidoscope of transforming foliage, best experienced in New England, the country’s leaf-peeping capital. This season, several new (and newly updated) topflight hotels are beckoning sophisticated travelers to their stylish suites, luxe spas, locavore restaurants, expansive grounds and the autumnal views that accompany them.

In the Berkshires, wellness-resort brand Miraval has opened its third outpost on the 380 acres of the former Cranwell destination spa in Western Massachusetts. Incredible Australian destinations to visit during international travel ban

Your travel bucket list may have needed a little tweaking this year, but you don’t have to ditch it altogether – Australia has you covered. Whether you were dreaming of sipping wine at a cellar door in France’s Bordeaux or hitting the road on California’s Big Sur coastal drive, Australia has experiences that are a match, if not better, than those we traditionally travel overseas for.

Almost a third of Australians – or 5.4 million Aussies – are planning a domestic holiday within the next 12 months, proving holiday makers are committed to a local adventure. This is up 21 per cent from January, according to Finder.

Data from travel booking site Expedia show Aussies have swapped trips to Bali, Phuket and Tokyo – which were high on the list in the 2019 September school holidays – for holidays to regional Australia. And planning for the Christmas holidays is in

Michael Trigg talking to South Carolina after USC visit

South Carolina missed on a major target earlier this week when linebacker/safety Chase Hattley committed to N.C. State. The Gamecocks hope to be more fortunate this weekend when it comes to tight end Michael Trigg (6-foot-4, 240 poinds) of Tampa.

Trigg is down to USC, LSU and Southern Cal and will announce his decision Sunday around 4 p.m. from his father’s barbeque restaurant, Konan’s BBQ, which is located in Tampa just down the street from Jefferson High School, alma mater of former Gamecock quarterback Stephen Garcia.

Trigg is coming off a visit with his parents to Los Angeles where he got together with Trojan quarterback commitment Miller Moss and athlete targets Ceyair Wright and defensive end Korey Foreman, and Foreman’s brother Kevin, for one of those non-sanctioned unofficial visits to Southern Cal.

“It was nice, I got to see the city and stuff life that,” Trigg said. “Didn’t really get

Pence visit to Southern Nevada likely to cause traffic headaches

Southern Nevada residents should brace for a presidential size headache on area roads Thursday as Vice President Mike Pence is slated to visit Boulder City for a campaign rally.

The Make America Great Again rally is scheduled to begin at 1o a.m. (doors open at 8 a.m.) Thursday at the Boulder City Airport just outside of Las Vegas and will likely impact roads and airspace in the region.

The U.S. Secret Service doesn’t release travel plans ahead of visits by President Donald Trump or Pence, but the vice president is expected to land Thursday morning at McCarran International Airport and motorcade into Boulder City shortly thereafter ahead of the planned event.

“As a result, freeway stops made by the vice president’s motorcade will be done so with little prior notice,” said Tony Illia, Nevada Department of Transportation spokesman, in an email. “Any temporary traffic restrictions incurred will be made in

Democrat Joe Biden calls for unity in visit to historic Gettysburg in Pennsylvania

Oct. 6 (UPI) — Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden delivered a call for unity during a campaign event in southern Pennsylvania on Tuesday, a state viewed as a critical battleground for next month’s election.

Speaking in Gettysburg, in the south-central part of the state, at the site of perhaps the Civil War’s most famous battle, Biden recalled the immortal words of President Abraham Lincoln who said that “a house divided against itself cannot stand.”

Biden said the United States is once again a house divided and November’s election represents “a battle for a soul of the nation.”

“As I look across America today, I’m concerned,” he said. “The country is in a dangerous place. Our trust in each other is ebbing. Hope seems elusive. Too many Americans see our public life not as an arena for mediation of our differences, but rather they see it as an occasion for total,

Watch live: Democrat Joe Biden speaks at historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in campaign visit

Oct. 6 (UPI) — Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will campaign in southern Pennsylvania on Tuesday, in a state viewed as a critical battleground for next month’s election.

Biden will visit Gettysburg, in the south-central part of the state, at the site of perhaps the Civil War’s most famous battle. There, he will call for national unity amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and attempts by President Donald Trump to divide, aides said.

Biden is scheduled to speak at 4 p.m. EDT.

Campaign officials said Biden will ask Americans to “come together” during the visit at the historic battle site, which they said has “deep significance and symbolism for both the cost of division and the strength of American ideals.”

Biden will also “highlight the need for people to work together and to reach across the aisle in order to address the crises we face,” they added, to remind voters that
